Send new matches to Slack or Microsoft Teams

    1 min read

Create an incoming webhook URL in Slack or Teams, paste it into NewcoHunter and click Connect. New matches from your saved searches are then posted to that channel. Both need a Pro plan (or the Pro trial).

    Slack

    1. In Slack, open your workspace apps and add the Incoming Webhooks app.
    2. Choose the channel NewcoHunter should post to.
    3. Copy the webhook URL it gives you. It starts with https://hooks.slack.com/services/.
    4. In NewcoHunter, go to /integrations/slack, paste the URL into the Slack incoming webhook URL box and click Connect.
    5. Click Send test message and check the channel.

    Microsoft Teams

    1. In Teams, go to the channel you want, open the ... menu and choose Workflows.
    2. Pick the template Post to a channel when a webhook request is received.
    3. Finish the setup and copy the webhook URL it generates.
    4. In NewcoHunter, go to /integrations/ms-teams, paste it into the Teams Workflow webhook URL box and click Connect.
    5. Click Send test message.

    What gets posted

Each message is a summary of new matches for that run, not one message per company. It carries the company name, incorporation date, location and sector codes, with a link back to NewcoHunter. Messages follow your alert cadence.

    Managing the connection

Once connected you can Pause and Resume posting, or Disconnect. If you create a new URL in Slack or Teams, paste the new one in; the old one stops working.

    If the test fails

Check you copied the whole URL and that the channel or workflow still exists. A new URL from Slack or Teams fixes most cases. Still stuck? Contact us.
