Signals API

Know when a UK business changes, the day it happens

New lending, new directors, new owners, office moves, the first sign of trouble. The Signals API turns changes at UK companies into a clean, dated feed you can filter by type and area and pull straight into your CRM, your models or your own product.

    Who uses it

    Lenders and brokers

Reach companies the week they take on secured lending or issue new shares, and spot existing borrowers showing signs of strain.

    Recruiters

New directors and fresh investment usually mean hiring. Get the company the day it changes, not when the job ad appears.

    Office, fit-out and facilities

Growing companies and companies that have just moved office need space, furniture, IT and cleaning.

    Accountants, lawyers and advisers

Changes of owner, name or activity, new companies and solvent wind-downs are all moments a business needs advice.

    Insolvency and restructuring

Administrations, liquidations and strike-off proposals as they are filed, by area.

    Credit and risk teams

Watch customers and suppliers for the changes that matter, with a dated timeline for each company.

One request, a feed of change

    • Events feed: newest first, filtered by family, type, date and postcode area, with cursor paging.
    • Company timeline: every signal for one company, newest first.
    • Likely buyers: companies likely to need what you sell right now, by area.
    • Companies API included: search and look up any UK company.
    • Webhooks: new signals matching your filter pushed to your server every few minutes, signed.
    • Works in AI assistants: connect Claude and other MCP clients with the same key. How to connect.

    Frequently asked questions

    What is a business signal?

A dated change at a UK company that suggests something is happening there: it raised money, appointed a director, changed owner, moved office, or started to fail. Each signal comes with the company's number, name, location and activity codes.

    How fresh are the signals?

Signals arrive the day the change appears on the public register, and each one carries the date it happened and the time we published it. The feed reaches back 90 days.

How is the Signals API priced?

By records: one signal or company returned counts as one record, and asking for the same record again in the same month is free. The Signals API includes the Companies API too. Every account can try it free with 100 records.

Can I filter by area and type of change?

Yes. Filter by signal family, by individual signal type and by postcode areas or districts, and page through results with a cursor. You can also ask for one company's full timeline.

    Do I need to code?

The API is for developers and data teams. If you would rather get signals by email, saved searches send them as alerts without any code.

Only need company search and lookup? See the Companies API. Use of the API is covered by the API terms.
