Where the data comes from
The company information in NewcoHunter comes from Companies House and other official public records. We do not buy private lists, and we do not invent details.
What that includes
- Registered office address, company type, status and incorporation date.
- Directors and other officers, and persons with significant control.
- SIC codes, which describe what a company does.
- Filed accounts, confirmation statements and the filing history.
- Charges, and formal insolvency notices where they exist.
Licensing
Companies House data is Crown copyright and is made available under the Open Government Licence. That licence lets us, and you, use the information, including for commercial purposes, as long as the source is acknowledged.
What NewcoHunter adds
The register is open to everyone, but it is built for looking up a company you already know. NewcoHunter makes it useful for finding companies you do not know yet:
- Search by sector, place and company type.
- Alerts when new companies match your search.
- Plain-English labels for changes, called signals.
- Filters that leave out formation-agent addresses and likely shell companies. See What we filter out.
- Exports and one-off lists. See Export to CSV or Excel.
What we do not claim
The register records what companies and their officers file. Companies House does not verify every statement made to it, so information is only as accurate as what was filed. If something looks wrong, see Report wrong data.
