How fresh is the data?
New incorporations usually appear in NewcoHunter within a day. Many other changes, such as a new director or a change of registered office, now show up the same day they are filed. We do not promise exact times.
What to expect
- New companies: usually within a day of registration.
- Changes to existing companies: many appear the same day. Some take longer, because Companies House has to process the filing first.
- Accounts: a company's accounts show its last financial year, not today. A company can file accounts months after its year end, so the figures you see may be a year or more old.
- Status: a company shows the status on the public record. A company that has just been struck off or has just entered liquidation may take a little while to show it.
How alerts fit in
Your alert frequency controls when you hear about what has arrived, not when it arrives. Instant alerts on Pro and Business check hourly. Daily and weekly emails collect what has appeared since the last one. See Daily, weekly or instant alerts.
If something seems missing
- Check the company number on the official register to confirm it has actually been registered or filed.
- Check your filters. See I can't find a company.
- Try again later. A filing made very recently may not have reached us yet.
Why accounts look old
Accounts are historic by nature. Signals such as net assets up or down compare a company's latest accounts with its previous ones, so they describe the last financial year. Read them as a clue about direction, not a live reading. See How signals work.
