Report wrong data
1 min read
If something on a company profile, in an export or in an alert looks wrong, contact us through the contact form or at [email protected], and include the company number.
What to include
- The company number. It is an 8-character code on the profile and on the official register. It lets us find the exact company.
- What looks wrong. For example "wrong status", "director missing", "shown at the wrong address" or "badge does not fit".
- What you expected. If you can, say where you checked, such as the official register.
- Where you saw it. The profile, an export, or an email alert.
Who can fix what
- Errors in the official record itself, such as a wrong director name or registered office, come from what the company filed. Only the company can correct those, by filing the right information with Companies House. Once it is corrected on the register, it updates here.
- Things on our side, such as a label that does not fit, a company wrongly hidden by a filter, or a contact detail that is not the company's, are ours to look at. Tell us and we will check.
What happens next
We read every report. If we find a problem on our side we correct it, and we may reply to ask a question or confirm the fix.
Before you write
- Check how recent the information is. See How fresh is the data?
- Remember that accounts show the last financial year, so figures can look out of date.
- If the company is simply missing from your search, see I can't find a company.
