New owner
New owner means a new person or company has been recorded as having significant control of the business. Its counterpart, Owner left, means someone has been recorded as no longer having control. Both sit in the Changing family.
What it does not mean
It does not mean the company has been sold or is for sale. Ownership records change for routine reasons such as a family transfer or a reorganisation. It does not tell you the price or the reason.
How to find it
Look in the Activity section of a company profile, in alerts, or through the Signals API.
Example outreach angle
"We work with businesses going through a change of ownership and help them [your service] without disruption."
Be careful not to assume a sale. Ask how things are going instead.
