Net assets down
Net assets down means the company's latest accounts show net assets well below its previous accounts. It sits in the Shrinking family.
What it does not mean
It does not mean the company is failing. A balance sheet can shrink after a dividend, a restructure or the sale of part of the business. It reflects the last financial year, so it can be months old. Never tell a prospect you know they are struggling.
How to find it
Open shrinking companies, or choose "Currently declining" in the established-company search at /companies. A sector and area filter keeps the list focused.
Example outreach angle
"Many businesses review costs after a lean year. We help [type of company] cut [your cost area] without cutting service."
Offer value on cost and keep the tone neutral.
