In administration
In administration means a company has entered administration, a formal insolvency process run by an appointed insolvency practitioner. It sits in the Failing family, alongside voluntary arrangements and receivership.
What it does not mean
It does not always mean the business is closing. Administration can end in a sale, a rescue or a wind-down. It also means decisions are now taken by the administrator, not the directors, which affects who you should contact.
How to find it
Open companies in administration, or choose "In administration" in the status filter of the established-company search at /companies.
Example outreach angle
"We work with administrators on [asset sales / recovery / supplier continuity]. Is there someone handling this we should speak to?"
Direct your approach to the administrator named on the record, and keep it professional.
