I built NewcoHunter because the useful half of Companies House data is the half nobody surfaces: not the company you already know to look up, but the ones that appeared this morning.

That means running the ingestion rather than buying it. NewcoHunter pulls directly from the official Companies House API, tracks around 5.7 million companies, and processes the 1,500 to 2,000 new incorporations added to the register every working day - alongside the accounts filings, officer appointments and insolvency notices that follow them. Everything I write here comes out of operating that pipeline: what the data actually contains, where it is late, and which parts of it do not mean what people assume they mean.

I am deliberately careful about what this data can and cannot tell you. A newly incorporated company usually has no website, no phone number and no trading history, and no tool can conjure those from the register. Where I have written something on this site that turned out to overstate the case, I have gone back and corrected it.
