Check when a UK company's accounts and confirmation statement are due at Companies House.
Private companies must file accounts within 9 months of their accounting year-end. Public companies have 6 months. First accounts have extended deadlines of 21 months (private) or 18 months (public) from incorporation.
Companies House issues automatic penalties for late filing. Private company penalties range from £150 (up to 1 month late) to £1,500 (over 6 months). Public company penalties are doubled. Penalties are doubled again if accounts are filed late in two consecutive years.
Every company must file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months. There is a 14-day grace period after the due date. The filing fee is £13 online or £40 on paper.
